Salt therapy (also known as halo-therapy) is becoming more widely recognized in the U.S. as a natural, drug-free supplement or alternative to common medical treatments. Simply put, halo-therapy emulates the conditions inside a natural salt cave by infusing the air with tiny particles of pharmaceutical-grade salt. These particles are not only safe to breathe but also have been shown to alleviate symptoms of various ailments. The addition of Himalayan crystal salts on the walls and floor of the cave further enhances the experience and helps to create a calm, relaxing environment.
It helps relax you, relieves you of stress, assists in clearing up sinus issues, allergies, any respiratory issue, helps improve skin conditions, psoriasis, acme, and other conditions. It helps lower blood pressure, improve digestion, and creates a relaxed and calm state for the participant. It is calming for the autistic child and relaxing for the adult.
Comfortable, casual clothing is fine or come exactly as you are! Please note that shoes are not permitted in the salt cave; we provide clean fuzzy socks. We also can provide booties to go over your socks. Additionally, we ask visitors to refrain from wearing perfumes or fragrances as a courtesy to other visitors who may have an allergy or sensitivity. In a salt cave session, you are laying in a zero-gravity chair breathing in micro-particles of salt, no special attire is required.
The upstairs cave is kept at a comfortable temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit. For visitors who find it cool, light blankets are available on each chair.
Using Himalayan salt lamps and adjustable overhead lighting, we maintain a somewhat dim level of light inside the cave to create a calm, relaxing atmosphere.
No it is not hot. The climate (around 68-71 degrees) and the humidity are carefully controlled to provide the most comfortable setting and creates a cave-like atmosphere.
The cave is always available to rent for private therapy sessions, yoga classes, bookclub groups, business meetings, children’s gatherings and other uses. Drop us a line for further details.
Salt therapy is perfectly safe for women at any stage of pregnancy. Because pregnancy can affect women in different ways, you’re invited to consult with your doctor if you have specific questions or concerns, but generally speaking, a visit to the cave is as safe as breathing the salt air by the beach.
The salt is pure and anti-bacterial. It is difficult to overstay your welcome in the salt cave.
A regular salt cave session is a relaxing position in a zero-gravity chair. Yoga in the Salt Cave is offered on Thursday nights at 7pm and check our yoga schedule for additional pop up Yoga in the Salt Cave classes!
