THAI YOGA STRETCH

Thai Yoga Therapy Stretch can be traced back more than 2,500 years to the Buddha’s personal physician, Shivago Komarpaj. Traditionally practiced in a temple, Thai Yoga sessions are considered to be a practical expression of “metta”, the Buddhist practice of loving-kindness. There is influence from the Indian Ayurvedic system as well as the Chinese culture and Thailand. All three of these cultures share the belief that energy flows through the body in pathways, which directly affect our health and the integrity of our body system.

The healing techniques of Thai Yoga Therapy combine acupressure, energy work, stretching, joint mobilization and a series of assisted yoga postures to unblock the major “sen,” or energy channels, in the body. Thai Yoga Therapy releases tensions and blocked energy, relaxes sore muscles, increases muscle flexibility, increases joint mobility and can be therapeutic for a number of physical and emotional conditions. In this session, often referred to as “lazy man’s yoga”, the client may reach a deep state of relaxation – it’s so much more than stretching.

The client does not have to be a yoga student or taking yoga classes to have a Thai Yoga Session. Stretches are soothing and never more than each client can handle. The client remains fully clothed during this treatment, please wear loose flexible clothing; long pants and long sleeves. Available as a 30 minute upper or lower body stretch, or a full body 60 minute or 90 minute stretch.
